For those of you who may ask, "How was the trip?" IT WAS AWESOME. Lots of happy memories for me.
Well, to start off, we went to Gettysburg. We went to the museum, saw a TON of interesting artifacts, and watched a short movie on the Civil War. RIP to those who have died trying to make this country, the proud USA, a better place.
After that, we went to the Sheraton Hotel for Hershey. After watching a bit of TV and just messing around, my friends and I started getting ready for this dinner dance that we had. One thing that I will always remember - sometimes, hair curlers just don't want to cooperate! While my friends were freaking out over their makeup and hair not being finished, I just relaxed and did a few things to my image. It was quite funny watching them freak out over some things... Anyways, after all... That... Was done, we went to the dinner dance... Or tried to at least. We actually just went in a huge circle, ended back up in the hotel room, then went to the first floor, realizing that the dinner dance was going on at the third floor, found an elevator, went upstairs, and then showed up fashionably late... Ish. There were a bit of difficulties trying to find where to sit, but everyone managed. The whole eighth grade ate their dinner, the staff cleared the dance floor, and music blared through the air. I swear. I'm half deaf still. My friends were doing really funky dances, and they pulled me along. That was a bit embarrassing... I mean, I kind of shy. Just kind of.
To every night, there's got to be romance, right? Well, I'm just going to say... You know what, I'm not going to keep you all in the dark. I got my first kiss! <3 <3 <3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *girly squeal*
I'm still trying to get over it. Okay. I have to calm down. Deep breaths. Inhale... Exhale... Okay. I'm all good now, I think...
Nope. My heart's still fluttering. I'll get on with this now...
After this wonderful moment, this person who shall not be named asked me to dance, and yep, I embarrassed myself even more, but who cares! I was having fun! Deal with it judgy people!
But all good things come to an end. Once it was 10:45, everyone dispersed to find their chaperons who would lead them back to their rooms to "sleep". About that...
In the rooms, my friends and I did our nightly routines, watched TV, played Never Have I Ever (I won both times... A little saddening), played FMK (not spelling that out), ate a lot of food, and eventually, at 2:00-ish, we all fell asleep.
I got 2 hours of sleep.
I woke at 4, and I thought it was pretty dark out, so I looked at the time and I went, "IT'S ONLY FOUR IN THE MORNING?!?!?!!" in my head. I wasn't able to fall asleep, so I just kind of lied there. Staring at the ceiling. Watching the time go by. It was quite boring. Then, FINALLY, at around 6:30, some one woke up, and she started talking to me. We kind of sort of woke the whole room up like that. After much groaning about mornings, we all did our morning routines, ate some more, talked some more, sang the whole Frozen soundtrack, and packed up all of our belongings (we trashed the hotel room... Oops).
Our chaperon showed up a bit late, and we were, yet again, late to another meal, trying to find seats. Breakfast was quiet. Nothing much happened. Then we boarded the buses to go to HERSHEY PARK!
I went with a few different friends (all of them being guys). I learned that some people just aren't made to read maps... In other words, we ran around the park trying to find the entrance to this one roller coaster... And to our luck, it was closed.
Anyways, we made our way around the park, going on this and that, having fun and being, well, free. For lunch, I only had a Dippin' Dots, but hey! I wasn't that hungry. A few minutes after we sat down to eat, the clouds rolled in and it POURED. We all finished our lunches, but we couldn't really move because of the rain. The guys stole the umbrella, and they didn't want to get wet. I, being all brave, was the first person to go out into the rain to throw my trash out. And everyone handed their trash to me so they didn't have to go out into the rain... I'm telling you peeps, chivalry is dead!
I got drenched, but rain is rain, and I enjoyed it very much. Sorry. I love the worst kinds of weather. All of the guys (but one) came out from under the umbrella after they saw that rain can't really hurt. They started sliding around, and me, being the responsible one, told them to stop. They didn't stop (one of them fell down and scraped his knee after much sliding...). Oh well. Guys will be guys.
The rain finally stopped, and my group went over to this awesome roller coaster... To find that it was closed, and there was going to be a wait. Of course. We waited and waited. We waited for about an hour! And then the person says that there was an hour's more of waiting, and so we decided that the wait just wasn't worth it. Though, we did go on a different ride. One of those rides where you're on sort of a swing, and they swing you around really quickly (we all crashed into each other...). And we went on a little teacup ride... And got weird stares from the people running that ride... Yeah... Our group kind of melted away in the end, but hey, I was alone (ish, we were in Hershey Park, so you can't really be alone there) with my special someone!
We went to the Kissing Tower by the way. You all could guess what happened.
We went on a few more rides, then we went to the Chocolate World. It was pretty cool. We watched how chocolate was made, and listened to singing cows. I ate ice cream for dinner.
After all this fun, we went back onto the bus, and drove back home.
I still went ice skating after all of this.
Yes, I was exhausted, but my soft, warm bed's always there for me!
