A few things. I have no clue why, but sometimes, my posts... Well, don't post. Haha, that sounded a bit funny. Though, it is getting on my nerves a bit. Anyhow, my meet yesterday. Kind of proud. No, I did not PR in jav, but I guess I just don't do windy days. I'm just going to say that the gusts yesterday were unbelievable, and my team was outside the whole entire time. I swear, a few times, I felt like I was going to get blown away or something. So, I threw 65' something something inches for jav yesterday, and yeah, I was a bit disappointed in myself, but hey, there are a lot more meets in the future. In fact, there's one on the upcoming Tuesday...
I think what gets to me during meets is not only the wind, but also the pressure and all of the nerves involved. I just keep thinking that I have to do this, this, and this, while keeping in mind of that, that, and that. Jav throwing involves a lot of technique, as well as the other throws, but so far, I feel like jav has the most to keep in mind. There's footing (and I have a fear of slipping now, even with cleats, because I've slipped before and it was not pretty), the angle of your arm (well, you aren't supposed to have one when you pull back), and not crossing the toe board/foul line (I have never done it before, but I'm always scared that I will). I most definitely do better when people tell me to "just throw". It kind of takes a lot of weight off of my shoulders, and I feel much better. I can't tell myself to "just throw", and I can't tell anyone to tell me that, because then it doesn't feel real. I just need someone to say "just throw" to me without provocation in order for me to actually do just that. Well, better luck to me next time!
Now my throws for shot put are improving quickly. Yesterday, I PRed yet again, and my throw was 23' 2". I was kind of excited. The second I threw, I knew it was a nice throw, and it felt good to be able to think that. I hope that I'll be able to throw 24' next time. That'll be pretty cool.
I hope this will post! Bye peeps, for now!
