I have been stabbed and beaten repeatedly,
Each wound growing larger with each blow.
I have been left there bleeding and alone,
Crying weakly for help but no one responds.
In that dark lonely room,
I lost belief,
I lost life.
But when the sunlight came,
Defeating the darkness,
I gained everything back.
My wounds healed,
My bruises faded,
My broken bones mended,
And I started over again.
At first it was baby steps,
Crawl after crawl.
Then I stood up and walked,
Hesitantly and wobbly at first,
But quickly stabilized after a while.
In no time I was running.
I ran from hopelessness,
I ran from despair,
I ran from my past,
And I started over again.
Each wound growing larger with each blow.
I have been left there bleeding and alone,
Crying weakly for help but no one responds.
In that dark lonely room,
I lost belief,
I lost life.
But when the sunlight came,
Defeating the darkness,
I gained everything back.
My wounds healed,
My bruises faded,
My broken bones mended,
And I started over again.
At first it was baby steps,
Crawl after crawl.
Then I stood up and walked,
Hesitantly and wobbly at first,
But quickly stabilized after a while.
In no time I was running.
I ran from hopelessness,
I ran from despair,
I ran from my past,
And I started over again.
