On Wednesday, school ended. I GRADUATED EIGHTH GRADE! YAY!
And, yes. I know it's cliche but I have to say this.
WHAT TIME IS IT, IT'S SUMMERTIME! :D
Does that mean that finally, there is no HW, that finally, there are no times of boredom?
Sadly, no. :(
I found out that only Honors literacy students have summer reading. Makes me feel a bit sad. Because we have to write six pages worth of literacy stuff. But I think that it is good that we have this assignment. Haha. I'm in Honors literacy and I still use the words "stuff" and "good". Yeah... My brain is kind of sort of on vacation right now...
Anyways, I believe that, no matter how painful it is, all students should get summer HW in every subject. This would keep the mental status of students up, and when school starts again, teachers wouldn't have to spend days, weeks, or even months trying to get their students to remember what they learned in previous years. It's a pain to those that do remember, and it is a waste of precious time!
Imagine how much smarter and how much more in depth classes could get if everyone remembered everything. People would become smarter, helping those individuals and the society as a whole. I'm talking about more advancements in the future peeps! No one wants our society to become lazy (or lazier) and dim-witted (or dumber). That would not be good for the world! There are already many who believe that school is stupid and a complete waste of time, and they skip classes/school, don't try and fail their classes, and etc. I disapprove of this behavior, but it happens!
Behavior also becomes more inappropriate during the summer because there are only a few rules to abide by. Summer homework could remind students that although there aren't any teachers watching over them every second of their lives for three months or so, they should still watch their behavior and work hard.
I know. I'm such a nerd. But I mean, honestly, I'm a bit frightened of what our society will become when our generation takes over. The world I'm imagining is NOT so great. We could turn that horrible future into something brighter one step at a time. A baby step would be summer homework!
Okay. Pep talk of the day is done. I'm out peeps!
